One person is hospitalized after a shooting at the Motel 6 in Sparks. Police were called to Victorian Avenue and Prater Way just after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Officers say the shooting happened inside a motel room. The victim is expected to survive; the shooter remains on the loose.
The RTC has canceled free rides for New Year’s Eve since Governor Steve Sioslak is asking everyone to stay home. Earlier this week, he extended the statewide pause through January 15th due to rising pandemic numbers. Transit services will run on a normal schedule on New Year’s Eve.
