A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the Sierra beginning Wednesday night and lasting until Thursday morning. Heavy snow is expected on mountain passes with up to a foot of new snow-so expect chain controls to be in effect. In the valley, expect rain switching over to light snow tomorrow morning accumulating between 1 and 3 inches and possibly making for a slick morning commute Thursday.
