For the first time in 52 years, the Governor’s Dinner will not go on. Scheduled for July 9th at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City, the major fundraiser for Wolf Pack Athletics has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nevada Athletics still plan to go ahead with the fall sports season as normal.
Recoveries continue to outpace active cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County. Recoveries have surpassed 800 while active cases are at just over 600. Of the county’s 54 new cases, 18 are from the homeless population. The county’s death toll stands at 54.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to a decrease in vital childhood vaccinations, according to a statewide non-profit. Immunize Nevada says vaccinations are down 64 percent…not just here in Nevada, but across the nation.
The Quad-County region sees two new cases of coronavirus. They involve a Lyon County boy under the age of 18 and a Douglas County man in his 60s. The area has 44 active cases, 128 total recoveries, and four deaths.
COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic persons is happening in Washoe County starting next week. Those interested must pre-register by calling 328-2427 beginning Thursday. Testing starts Monday.
