Celebrate Halloween this weekend with DCSO

This weekend is Halloween-and the final weekend for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Fright at the Fairgrounds. Tomorrow from 12 to 5 p.m. there’s a costume contest with prizes-including bikes-and the opportunity for safe trick-or-treating. At nightfall, a haunted house will open. It’s all happening at the Douglas County fairgrounds off Pinenut Road in Gardnerville.

1 killed in rollover crash in Wadsworth

One person is dead in a single-vehicle crash on I-80 in Wadsworth. It happened at the Painted Rock interchange yesterday. Troopers say both persons in the vehicle weren’t wearing seat belts when the vehicle rolled over; one person was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was hospitalized.

COVID-19 Cases are Surging at the Washoe County Jail

Coronavirus cases at the Washoe County jail have more than quadrupled in the last week, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
