No survivors after small plane crash in Truckee

A small plane crashes in Truckee, sparking a fire, and killing every on-board. Officials say the Twin Turbo Jet Challenger was trying to land at the Truckee-Tahoe Airport, when it crashed near Ponderosa Golf Course yesterday afternoon. No structures or people on the ground were hurt. It’s unclear how many people were on the plane.

Bear cub rescued from Tamarack Fire

A bear cub is rescued from the Tamarack Fire. Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care says the 21-pound black bear was found by returning homeowners in a yard in Markleeville Sunday night. They managed to sedate the bear, which had burns to all four of its paws. It’s now recovering in the care of wildlife officials.
