1 hospitalized after Reno fire

One person is spending Christmas in the hospital after a fire. Reno firefighters were called to the 600 block of Robin Hood Drive on Christmas Eve. They managed to contain flames to a single room, but one person was hurt. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Reno Police arrest a man after an hours-long standoff downtown. They were called to the Westlyn Apartments on West Street Thursday morning for reports of a man with a rifle. Police say the man was never armed, but he was making loud threats; they say he suffers from mental illness.

CA sees grim milestone in coronavirus battle

A grim milestone-California has become the first state in the nation to have two million COVID-19 cases. Health officials say the influx in cases stems from Thanksgiving gatherings. The most populous state in the nation has seen 23,000 deaths from the virus. As many as 18,000 people remain hospitalized as hospitals approach capacity.
