NV sets new COVID-19 record over weekend

Rare NV plant being destroyed by wild animals, not humans, report says

A rare Nevada plant is being damaged by wild animals-not humans-according to a new federal report. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services says the Tiehm’s buckwheat that’s only found on 21 acres of land in Esmeralda County is being attacked by squirrels and antelope, debunking an environmentalist theory that humans caused damage to the plant.

Reno man dies from injuries in week-old hit-and-run

A Reno man has died from injuries he suffered in a week-old hit-and-run crash. 32-year-old Cody Robinson was struck while walking at Kietzke Lane near Galletti Way last Monday night. Police say a metallic blue mid-size SUV fled the scene of that crash. They suspect it has front-end damage as a result of the crash. … Read more

Douglas Co. libraries close due to COVID

Libraries in Douglas County have closed to the public, starting today. The closure is in response to a massive spike in COVID-19. Instead, the library will offer curbside pick-up services at the Minden Branch Monday through Saturday and at the Lake Tahoe Branch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The closure is in effect until further notice.

Positivity Rate Goes Up

Health officials in Nevada on Sunday reported 2,511 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 14 additional deaths and a record high two-week positivity rate.
