A man charged in a fatal shooting in a bank parking lot appears in court. 21-year-old Davion Simonton of Reno faces a charge of murder in connection with the killing of 78-year-old Douglas Morrin the parking lot of the Wells Fargo on Neil Road in south Reno last week.

Washoe County adds two new COVID-19 related deaths. The persons are a man and woman, both in their 80s, with underlying health conditions. The county added 230 new cases with active cases now surpassing 57-hundred. The area also saw just over 100 recoveries.

We now have the name of a suspect who faces a DUI charge in connection with a hit-and-run earlier this week in Reno. He is 23-year-old Jose Almarez Junior. Fire burns a clubhouse in Sparks. Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Nichols Boulevard. They arrived to find flames shooting through the roof. They put it out, and no one was hurt.; the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Governor Steve Sisolak has declared a state of emergency in response to the Pinehaven Fire. The Governor’s declaration follows similar declarations from the City of Reno and Washoe County.
