Voter turnout in Washoe County exceeded that of the 2016 general election well before polls even opened yesterday. More than 213,000 Washoe County residents had voted before Tuesday compared to 210,000 in 2016. Final voter turnout numbers are still being finalized but long lines were seen at several polling places yesterday.

A girl is rescued after a dirt bike crash. Emergency crews say the girl was riding near Broken Arrow and Fence Post Road near Pine Haven, when she crashed and broke her ankle.

Truckee man found dead in Black Rock Springs

A Truckee man’s death is under investigation in Humboldt County. Sheriff’s deputies say 37-year-old Stephen Shelby was found dead on Halloween in Black Rock Springs. He was found face down in the water and could not be revived. Foul play is not suspected.

A Lyon County brothel worker is suing the state over the closure of her business and others like it during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports Alice Little, in her lawsuit, claims sex workers are struggling both financially and emotionally and have been treated “unfairly.” Governor Sisolak’s office declined comment.

Police still search for white sedan in Reno hit-and-run

Police are still looking for a white sedan they say is tied to a hit-and-run in Reno. They say the vehicle, which has dark rims, should have minor front-end damage and a damaged windshield. The 35-year-old man who was struck at Wells Avenue and Moran Street Saturday night was hospitalized.
