A positive case of COVID-19 surfaces at Fernley High School. It’s unclear whether the case involves a student or a staffer. So far, at least one other person has been quarantined as a result of exposure.

Republicans are calling it a “victory.” Democrats say they’ll appeal a judge’s ruling that says lawmakers improperly approved two funding measures without the constitutional two-thirds majority required. Democrat leaders say the ruling could cost the state’s schools $100 million.

Human remains are found at Marlette Lake in Carson City. The discovery was made Sunday by bicyclists-who say they found a human skull on Flume Trail. They say the skull had been in the elements for quite some time. It’s been turned over the medical examiner’s office for identification.

More than 8,100 lbs. of trash have been removed from Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe. Dive teams covered every inch of the eight-mile shoreline to remove the trash. Tahoe had 3,000 lbs. of trash while Donner Lake had more than 5,000 lbs.
