Sparks police look for Victorian Theater garage vandal

Sparks police need your help finding a vandal. They believe a man seen on surveillance video inside an elevator, made graffiti on the wall on the third-floor parking garage at the Victorian Theater last month. A $250 reward is being offered for information in the case.

Name of Man Killed in Crash Released

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) has released the name of the man killed in a crash at Pyramid Way near Los Altos Parkway on Friday morning. He is 36 year old Juan Munoz of Sparks. Police say impairment did not appear to play a part in the crash.

Health officials reported one death, 54 new COVID-19 cases and 33 recoveries in Washoe County on Saturday, marking another new record high for active cases since the pandemic began. The death toll in Washoe County is 102 and the number of active cases increased to 1,239 countywide.

Deputies: Carson City woman arrested after fetus found in freezer

A Carson City woman is arrested after authorities say they found a fetus in her freezer. Deputies say 22-year-old Malika Angulo had taken drugs last October to purposefully miscarry. She was arrested at her home on the 16-hundred block of Airport Road, but was released. A 2-year-old in the home was taken to child services.

UNR continues on with campus reopening plan

As COVID-19 cases rise, UNR is preparing to reopen campus this fall. Face coverings will be required in all indoor and outdoor public spaces, including classrooms. Classes will be a mix of virtual and in-person instruction.
