Sisolak says he won’t call a 2nd special session unless priorities are in order

Governor Steve Sisolak says he may not call a second special session of the Nevada legislature as the first drags on. He says he’ll only do so when he’s confident that lawmakers and his office have fully reviewed all policy items. The special session has failed twice on approving a mining tax adjustment and had long negotiations over budget cuts. Governor Sisolak had favored the mini tax-saying it would’ve raised much-needed revenue without putting the burden on the backs of small businesses and families as the state recovers from COVID-19.
