Ski resorts go from temporarily closed to closed for the season

It started as a temporary closure-now several ski resorts say they’re shuttering for the season. Northstar, Kirkwood, and Heavenly Mountain are all closing up shop. Vail Resorts, their parent owner, called it the “most responsible path forward” for the health and safety of guests and employees.

Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows to feed kids off from school

The Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is working to ensure children who are at risk of not getting a meal will get fed. The Club is serving boxed breakfast and lunch at five locations, including the Neil Road and Lemmon Valley youth centers, the William Pennington Teen Center. Pick up is drive-by service.

There won’t be any more visits to the Douglas County jail-at least until the spread of COVID-19 is contained. It’s one of several steps local law enforcement are taking to ensure police patrol operations can continue at full-strength.
