Reno Air Races canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Reno Air Races are yet another casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Reno Air Racing Association Board says concerns surrounding health and safety of those involved and guests played a major part in their decision-plus there’s too much uncertainty around coronavirus restrictions for large events. The races will return in 2021.

Washoe, Douglas deputies won’t criminally enforce mask mandate

Graffiti is on the rise in several neighborhoods south from Incline Village and north to Highland Ranch. The Washoe County sheriff’s office says we often see a spike in vandalism in the summertime, and they’re asking you to report any graffiti you see as soon as you see it.

Ban on Evictions to End in the Fall

Governor Steve Sisolak signed an Emergency Directive, which will gradually lift the moratorium on evictions. Seven Displaced in Reno Condo Blaze

Fire Crews knocked down a large structure fire that burned a condominium complex Thursday afternoon in northwest Reno. The fire, which broke out shortly before 4 p.m. on Freddie Court, is currently under investigation. three people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. Officials said three units were destroyed, and seven people were displaced.

Massive wildfire raging in Douglas County

A massive wildfire is burning in Douglas County. The Monarch Fire broke out at lunchtime Wednesday in the Pinenut Mountains, southeast of Gardnerville. It spans 1,800 acres. So far, no structures are threatened, but thick smoke could be seen coming from the mountainside. The fire isn’t even slightly contained at this time.
