A man wanted for kidnapping in Utah is arrested over the weekend in Elko County. Derek Rowley was nabbed on U.S 93, at HD Summit, north of Wells Saturday. He’s accused of kidnapping two children in Utah Friday, prompting an Amber Alert.

The Dixie Fire in Plumas County has surpassed 720,000 acres. Winds were a problem for firefighters over the weekend–with blowing embers sparking spot fires over containment lines. More than 1,200 structures, half of them homes, have been destroyed by the fire. It’s now 40% contained.

Seven men are arrested following an undercover operation by the FBI’s Northern Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. The men are accused of offering payment to have sex with minors. The Washoe, Douglas, and Carson City sheriff’s offices and Reno police were also part of the operation.

Six people are without a home after a structure fire in Sparks broke out Sunday morning.
