Firefighters say fire damaged timber is rolling beyond containment and igniting dry fuels, sparking spot fires that have been challenging to keep up with. A fugitive wanted in Oregon is arrested on charges of illegal dumping in Lemmon Valley. Washoe County deputies say Ivory Sylvester and a man were seen ditching multiple vehicles in the Horizon Hills neighborhood yesterday. A resident tipped off deputies, who say Sylvester gave them a suspended license before she was arrested.

Sparks police say an elderly man who died in a crash over the weekend likely suffered a medical episode behind the wheel. They say the 83-year-old Sparks man struck a light pole at Sparks and Baring boulevards Sunday afternoon. He was found unresponsive and pronounced dead in his vehicle.
