U.S. Congressman Mark Amodei has been dealing with kidney cancer and a cancerous lesion on his esophagus for the last year. Amodei tells The Nevada Independent he didn’t disclose his medical condition because he didn’t want it to become a campaign issue. The 63-year-old Republican says he’s had three surgeries and an outpatient procedure over the last 10 months. Amodei says the surgeries completely removed the cancer, and he didn’t need chemo or radiation.
