A California man faces dozens of charges after fleeing a traffic stop in Washoe County. Deputies say they found 10 lbs. of meth and 2,000 fentanyl pills inside Epimegnio Romero-Jimenez’s SUV after he failed to stop Sunday along I-80 and led deputies on a brief chase. Spike strips ultimately got him.

Washoe County schools are hiring. They have 50 vacancies they’re looking to fill – and a shortage of custodians isn’t helping keep schools clean. The year-round positions start at $14.50 per hour. They’re holding an application assistance event Thursday at North Valleys High from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We now have the name of a bicyclist struck and killed in Washoe Valley. She is 38-year-old Boryana Straubel. Straubel was biking along U.S. 395 Alternate northbound in the bike lane when she was hit by an SUV Saturday morning and pronounced dead at the scene.

Reno Police have arrested a suspect in a downtown shooting that followed a traffic crash. Officers say Sean Steinberg, 38, shot another driver after a collision at West Street and Fifth Street Saturday night. Police found Steinberg and arrested him on Monday on a charge of open murder. Sparks police are investigating shots fired in the city. They were called to west Sparks just after midnight Sunday. On the 2200 block of Capurro Way, officers say they found several shell casings in the street, but no victims.
