Reno could see 100-degree temperatures this week

It’s a hot weather week here. The National Weather Service says we could see 100 degree temperatures at the Reno Airport Wednesday and Thursday. If it happens, The Reno Gazette-Journal reports it would be a record-breaker. Our earliest-ever 1000-degree dray was June 7th, 2013

NV eviction moratorium ends

Nevada’s eviction moratorium, put in place to help struggling renters during the COVID-19 pandemic expired on Memorial Day. Governor Steve Sisolak said in March it would not be extended again. A federal eviction moratorium remains in effect through this month.

Fire burns mobile home off Mt. Rose Highway

A mobile home burns off Mt. Rose Highway. Truckee Meadows firefighters were called to Logan Meadows Lane in south Reno for reports of smoke and fire that had extended to some nearby brush, burning a half-acre. No one was hurt. No word yet on a cause.
