Reno man likely to get probation in mother’s hot car death

A Reno man won’t likely do jail time for the death of his elderly mother last year-after she was found dead din a hot car. The Washoe County DA’s office says they have no proof Edward Sibley deliberately meant to harm his 81-year-old mother, whom he left with the car keys. Sibley pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor charge of elder abuse. He could get a year in prison, but prosecutors recommended probation.
