Fire damages a home in Sparks. Firefighters were called to Hubble Drive and Vista Boulevard this morning. They arrived to find a patio and front porch engulfed in flames-fire did spread to the attic. Three people inside the home made it out safely. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Nevada college students who want to return to campus this fall may be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine. A small earthquake rattles an area near Truckee. The Nevada Seismological Lab put the tremor at 4.8 on the Richter Scale. It happened last night and was centered near Independence Lake-about 10 miles from Donner Lake. There were no reports of any damage.
UNR is hosting a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic this weekend in an effort to get more students vaccinated. ‘Vax the Pack’ will be held at Whitaker Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. UNR says the vaccine clinics will continue through the summer as students prepare for the return to campus next fall.
