Truckee Meadows Fire: Wildfire season to start early

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says wildfire season will start early this year. Spokesman Adam Mayberry says the shortened winter means less moisture is in the air, meaning wildfire season can move in earlier. He adds with snowpack and rainfall reduced, Nevada’s drought status isn’t helping.

Driver flips SUV in Midtown Reno

A driver flips her SUV flipped in a crowded area of Virginia Lake in midtown Reno. Police say pedestrians were sunning in the park when it happened Monday. No one was hit or hurt in the incident. The driver was tested for driving under the influence.
