The winter storm has led hundreds of people experiencing homelessness to sign up for beds at Reno’s homeless shelter on East Fourth Street, which expanded operations this winter due to the pandemic in an effort to keep people socially distanced. The Community Assistance Center on Record Street is also seeing a spike in demand.

A man is charged in connection with vandalism at the Sparks courthouse. Police arrested Derek Kuchler who they say threw rocks at the windows of the Sparks Justice Court last Friday. Damage amounted to about $1,300.. A second suspect remains on the loose.
Washoe County adds three COVID-19 deaths for a total of 587. The latest deaths involve men in their 80s and 90s and a woman in her 60s. The county added just under FIVE dozen cases and 391 recoveries. Tuesday. The Health District vaccinated 689 persons Monday for a total of 16,900 residents.
