Case Count Breaks Single Day Record

Nevada officials reported 3,402 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Thursday, breaking the record for most cases reported in a single day. Officials also reported 44 deaths. The record-setting case count comes one day after Nevada reported 60 coronavirus deaths, marking the pandemic’s highest single-day toll.

One-third of students have a failing grade, WCSD says

Remote learning is leading to less successful outcomes for Washoe County students. The Washoe County School District says between 25 and 33 percent of middle and high school students are failing at least one course. Front-line staff at Carson Tahoe get 2nd COVID-19 dose

Cooking sparks Sun Valley fire

Unattended cooking sparks a fire in Sun Valley. Truckee Meadows firefighters were called to Bozic Lane near East 7th Street early this morning. Everyone inside made it out safely before firefighters arrived, but 2 News reports three had to be hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

Trooper hit in US 395 crash

A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper suffers minor injuries after a crash. It happened on northbound U.S. 395 in the Panther Valley area last night. The trooper did not require a hospital.
