South Lake Tahoe car thief gets lengthy prison sentence

A car thief will spend between four and nine years behind bars. Michael Winton was arrested in September after he stole a Lincoln Navigator in South Lake Tahoe and led deputies on a chase through Stateline. The Tahoe Daily-Tribune reports he pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to elude officers and possession of a stolen vehicle and was sent to drug treatment. A few weeks later, police say he was arrested on drug charges – that led to his length sentence with District Judge Tod Young telling Winton-he can’t “keep living like this.”
