A 73-year-old Reno man was arrested on multiple charges of sex crimes against a child on Tuesday. According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, detectives have been investigating James “Bob” Stapp, a local educator, since February. Stapp is charged with three counts of lewdness with a child under 14. The victim is known to Stapp.

Local educator charged with child sex crimes

A local educator is charged with sex crimes against a child. Washoe County deputies arrested 73-year-old Bob Stapp of Reno. He faces three counts of lewdness with a child under 14. Police say he knew his victim. Deputies haven’t said where Stapp teaches. Their investigation is ongoing.

A Secret Witness tip leads police to arrest an 18-year-old man on charges of sexually assaulting a child. Cody Stauffenberg faces five felony sex crimes counts, including lewdness with a child. Washoe County investigators say his victim was 12 years old. Police are investigating whether there are other victims in the case.

Sparks police investigate shots fired

Sparks police are searching for a suspect in a shots fired case. They say multiple shots were fired into a home on C Street between Rock Boulevard and 15th Street just after 3 a.m. Tuesday. People were inside the home sleeping at the time of the gunfire, but no one was hurt.

Police look for blue Ford Explorer in shots fired case

Police say they’re looking for a blue Ford Explorer with possible disabled California license plates in connection with a shots fired case. They say someone fired off a shot from the driver’s seat of that vehicle into an occupied building on South Virginia Street between California Avenue and Stewart Street last weekend.
