Truckee Meadows COVID Risk Meter ‘very high’ as hospital ICUs approach capacity

The Truckee Meadows COVID Risk meter is predicting ICU beds at hospitals could reach 90 percent occupancy after the next holiday. Jeremy Smith, director of regional planning for Truckee Meadows, tells The Reno Gazette-Journal that hospital beds are filling up and capacity is nearing. He says more than 50% of people in ICU beds have the COVID-19 virus. The region’s rating comes in at “very high and approaching critical.”

Meantime, Washoe County added six COVID-19 deaths for a total of 425. The county added 259 cases Tuesday.
