Washoe County remains flagged by the state’s COVID-19 task force for the seventh consecutive week for its increase in cases. Washoe County added 328 cases and 124 recoveries. The area also saw one new COVID-19 death for a total of 208. The latest death involves a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions

Washoe Co. woman convicted of killing the father of her child

A Washoe County woman is heading to prison for the rest of her life after being convicted of murder. 40-year-old Katherine Fletcher was found guilty of killing Robert Trask, in front of their child in Oxbow Nature Park in 2016. Prosecutors say the two had been engaged in a custody dispute.

South Lake Tahoe residents approve local sales tax

South Lake Tahoe residents are willing to pay more for non-essential goods. Voters approved Measure “S,” which implements a one-cent local sales tax. Fork Fire fully contained

It took more than two months, but the Fork Fire is now fully contained. The fire was sparked September 8th in the Eldorado National Forest, southwest of Lake Tahoe. The cause remains under investigation.

Nevada officials reported 960 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one additional death on Monday. Health officials flagged 10 of the state’s 17 counties as “high risk” — Clark, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Lincoln, Lyon, Nye and Washoe Counties as well as Carson City.
