El Dorado, Placer counties reach highest level on COVID-19 risk dial

El Dorado and Placer counties across the state line are on the highest level of COVID-19 risk. They’ve reached purple on the dial – meaning the virus’ positivity rate is 8 percent or higher. The designation means movie theaters, bars, gyms, and places of worship are closed. Retail stores, malls, grocery stores, salons, and libraries can operate at 25% capacity. El Dorado County has been averaging about two dozen new cases per day over the past week.
