Mountain View Fire continues to rage in Walker Canyon

The Mountain View Fire burning across the state line has left one person dead as it rages out of control. The fire, burning in Walker Canyon, soared to nearly 29,000 acres, at last check, and has destroyed 80 structures so far. As many as 800 residents have been evacuated. U.S. 395 which was shuttered for a time between Bridgeport and the Nevada state line, reopened Wednesday. Firefighters say rain has helped slow the fire’s forward progress.
