COVID-19 spread gets Douglas County flagged by state task force

Douglas County is flagged by the state’s COVID-19 task force for a rising number of COVID-19 cases. The state was flagged for its number of positive cases per 100-thousand in the last 30 days and its positivity rate which stands at 13.4%. They want it under 8%. Now, the county must submit a plan to combat the virus. What’s concern–County manager Patrick Cates says is that the increase in cases is impacting healthcare workers and first responders-a workforce that cannot be easily replaced. No county services have shuttered a result of the spike, but many remain by appointment only. County employees are working from home, whenever possible.
