Police: Sparks man hit girlfriend in face with gun

A Sparks man is arrested after a violent fight with his girlfriend. Washoe County deputies say Salvador Solis-Sandoval repeatedly struck his girlfriend in the face with a gun while in a vehicle. She suffered severe facial injuries and had to be hospitalized. He faces a host of felonies including domestic battery with a deadly weapon.

Woman found dead underneath car in Reno

A woman is dead in a bit of freak accident that happened near Wooster High School the 2000 block of Villanova Drive Monday. Police say the woman’s vehicle began to roll back as she exited. She was found under the front left tire; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

RPD Investigates a Crash

Reno Police are investigating a crash at the intersection of Clear Acre Lane and McCarran Boulevard. It happened just after 9 p.m. Monday evening. At least two vehicles were involved and four people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Carson City joins high-risk COVID transmission list

Carson City joins a list it doesn’t want to be on. It’s been flagged as having a high COVID-19 transmission rate. The Nevada Appeal reports Carson City’s positivity rate is over 8 percent and its cases are double the threshold of 200 cases per 100,000.
