Meantime, in California wildfires are breaking records, and there’s still two months left in fire season. So far, they’ve burned 4 million acres– the most in a single year. The previous record was 1.6 million acres two years ago. Lightning strikes have largely been to blame for massive wildfires burning across the state.

Two families are homeless after an apartment fire in Reno. Firefighters were called to the 600 block of Brinkby Avenue, south of Virginia Lake Saturday. No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire isn’t yet known.

Washoe County adds 2 dozen COVID-19 cases, recoveries rise

Washoe County adds under two dozen COVID-19 cases–and recoveries really soared–we saw 229 reported Sunday. Statewide, though, Nevada saw 772 new cases Friday, the largest number since mid-August. The spike is attributed to a delay in lab processing in the southern part of the state.

1 dead in vehicle rollover near Wadsworth

One person is dead and another hurt in a single-vehicle wreck near Wadsworth. It happened on State Route 447 Sunday. Troopers say the vehicle rolled over–leaving the passenger dead at the scene; the driver had to be airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
