Truckee Meadows firefighters stop a fire in Lemmon Valley before it got out of control. They halted the Blackfoot Fire at about 8.5 acres. It was burning near Seneca Drive and North Virginia Street Sunday.

A laptop shortage continues to be an issue for distance learning in Washoe County. The district still needs 11,000 laptops for students-and while they’re ordered them, that shipment isn’t coming anytime soon. About 4,000 computers are slated to arrive in October.
Seven fires are still burning north of Reno, near Susanville. The fires were sparked by the lightning in the North Complex in Plumas National Forest Monday. The three largest fires have combined into one fire-known as the Sheep Fire. The whole complex fire is estimated at more than 10-thousand acres.
A family in Silver Springs is homeless after a fire. Firefighters from the Central Lyon district, Carson City and Storey County fire departments were called to fight the flames on Prospect Avenue. No one was hurt.
