A jet makes a hard landing at the Reno Stead Airport. It happened Monday. The FAA says the F5 fighter jet, that’s civilian registered, landed with its gear up. The pilot was the only person on-board and wasn’t hurt.

2 small fires doused before spreading

Firefighters made quick work of two small fires. One broke out near Bowers Mansion after lightning struck a tree Monday. It burned just a quarter acre. A separate fire in Truckee near Prosser Hill was also quickly controlled.

Washoe County’s 7-day rolling average of COVID cases cause for concern

Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 133. The latest deaths involved men with underlying health conditions–on his 90s, the other in his 60s. The county added 55 infections and 92 recoveries. Washoe County’s seven-day rolling average is inching close to 10 percent–the highest it’s been since late June.

Fight leads to gunfire in downtown Reno

A fight ends in gunfire in downtown Reno. Police say two men were throwing punches at Second and Virginia streets Saturday morning when one pulled out a gun and fired. The victim’s condition is expected to survive.
