Quad County COVID-19 Numbers

Quad County health officials also reported seven new cases Saturday and two new cases on Sunday. The total number of cases in Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County and Storey County is now 42.

Federal Aid on the Way

More than 2,500 health care providers and hospitals in Nevada were expected to begin receiving $241.5 million on Friday in the first disbursement of federal coronavirus response aid. The funds come from $100 billion allocated by Congress to support health care facilities dealing with COVID-19.

On Sunday Nevada Health Response reported that there are 2,836 positive cases of coronavirus. Nevada Health Response also report more than 21,000 people have tested negative. They report more than 100 people have died from the virus statewide. 10 deaths now in Washoe County. Second most cases n the state with 363 cases.

3rd Reno VA employee dies from COVID-19

A third employee of the VA in Reno has died from coronavirus. 57-year-old Alex Gousey worked as a med-tech in hospital’s lab. His death follows that of VA emergency room nurse Vianna Thompson earlier this week, and Bruce McAllister, who helped file veterans claims-who was Washoe County’s first death from COVID-19.

Sisolak tightens restrictions, shutters golf courses, tennis courts and more

Truckee called coronavirus ‘hotspot’

Truckee has been called a “coronavirus hotspot” by a Nevada County supervisor. In a Facebook video, Supervisor Richard Anderson says of Nevada County’s 34 coronavirus cases-24 of them are in Truckee. Anderson says the area is worried the case count could soon overwhelm the local health care system.
