Mill Street parking garage to become hospital overflow site in Reno

A parking garage is getting a new purpose at Renown. The hospital will use the Mill Street parking garage as a temporary patient care unit-if the hospital becomes overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients. Renown says it expects a surge on its resources within the next few weeks. Right now, hospitals are at about half capacity.

Health officials reported the 13th death related to coronavirus in Washoe County on Tuesday. The patient was a woman in her 50s with underlying health conditions, according to the Washoe County Health Office. There have been 532 cases with 92 recoveries.

1 person arrested in Reno arson

One person is arrested on arson charges. Firefighters were called to the 1200 block of Carville Drive in Reno last night. They got the fire out in less than 10 minutes and arrested one person at the scene.
