Fire breaks out at a warehouse in Sparks. Firefighters were called to the area along the railroad tracks near Glendale Avenue to find the building engulfed late last night. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

After more than 35 years of business, the Lakeside Inn and Casino is permanently shutting down and more casinos may be doing the same. In a decision made this earlier this week, the president of the Lakeside Inn Stacy L. Noyes says they couldn’t afford the prolonged shutdown.

Reno is slapping non-essential businesses that stayed open during the COVID-19 shutdown with cease and desist orders. News 4 reports Little City Salon on Wells Avenue and Z Body Fitness on South Virginia Street were among the businesses to receive the letters; they’ve since closed their doors.
Nevada Democrats are going virtual for their state convention. Party Chair William McCurdy the second says the convention May 30th will happen remotely with more details to come. The state plans to conduct its June primary mostly by mail due to coronavirus.
