Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 ticks up. Death number 14 is a man in his seventies. The county picked up an additional 17 new positive cases for a total of nearly 550. Thirty-two persons are hospitalized. Recoveries have surpassed 100.

Fire engulfs Sprks warehouse

Fire breaks out at a warehouse in Sparks. Firefighters were called to the area along the railroad tracks near Glendale Avenue to find the building engulfed late last night. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local Casino Closes Permanently

After more than 35 years of business, the Lakeside Inn and Casino is permanently shutting down and more casinos may be doing the same. In a decision made this earlier this week, the president of the Lakeside Inn Stacy L. Noyes says they couldn’t afford the prolonged shutdown.
