Nevada reported 28 additional COVID-19-related deaths Tuesday, the highest single-day total since the start of the pandemic, bringing the statewide total to 676 deaths. Washoe County is reporting three new COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the county death toll to 105.
A second person has died in a fire in Midtown Reno that investigators now say was arson. Firefighters were called to the 300 block of Broadway Boulevard Monday morning, where they say the fire was contained to one building. Thirteen others were hurt and several pets were also killed in the fire.

Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 remains unchanged from the day prior. It stands at 102. The county added 65 cases, bringing the number of active cases to just shy of 1,100. Recoveries jumped by more than 200 and hospitalizations fell by 6.
El Dorado County sees its first COVID-19 death. The death was reported in a Lake Tahoe man, over the age of 65. The county has just shy of 200 active cases with the bulk of them in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
