A death last month in South Lake Tahoe has been declared a murder. Police found 61-year-old Jorge Campos dead inside his home on the 1000 block of Lodi Avenue on December 16, 2019. Washoe County deputies track down a murder suspect they’d been searching for in Incline Village. Deputies found 20-year-old Sean Purdy Friday near Memorial Park after a 12-hour search by ground and by sky. Purdy was wanted in connection with the murder of his father, 52-year-old Lance Purdy; he’s awaiting extradition to California.

Douglas County deputies say a dozen people were arrested during New Year’s Eve celebrations in the Stateline area They say three were nabbed for DUI while one was nabbed for disorderly and resisting an officer. Four people are homeless after a fire in Sun Valley. Truckee Meadows fire crews were called to 9th Avenue and Yukon Drive late Thursday afternoon for fire at a single-family home. No one was hurt, but the home is a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A woman involved in a fatal hit and run accident has been arrested. 52-year-old Karen Hoyopatubbi was arrested after Reno Police located the vehicle involved.
