Carson City deputies look for credit card thief

Carson City sheriff’s deputies need your help finding a suspect wanted for credit card fraud. Deputies say the man opened several credit cards and bought items in Reno and Carson City, using a Carson City resident’s bank account. He was caught on video opening a fraudulent credit card at Home Depot in Reno last year.

Reno City Manager to Resign

Reno city manager Sabra Newby is resigning from her position effective in July because of family reasons. Newby, who was picked for the job in March 2017, announced her departure in a letter to the Reno City Council and city staff late Wednesday night.

Sparks Police Officer Involved Shooting

The Sparks Police Department says a hostage situation turned into an officer-involved shooting at the Park Vista Apartments in the 500 block of Sparks Boulevard on Thursday night. Officials said the suspect is dead and a female victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
