In light of the coronavirus outbreak, Renown Health is implementing a new visitation policy. Renown will not be allowing most visitation at its hospitals. They’re making exceptions for extenuating circumstances – with one visitor per patient allowed to visit through controlled entrances at both hospitals from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Visitors are being banned at Renown. The restrictions, which begins Tuesday, come in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Some exceptions will be made for extenuating circumstances-but no kids under 12 will be permitted.

A Hug High School senior is this year’s Nevada Youth of the Year. News 4 reports the Boys and Girls Clubs Clubs of America bestowed the honor upon Destiny Zepeda for her athletic, volunteer, and academic contributions. She gets a $2,500 scholarship and goes on to compete for the regional title.
Nevada’s attorney general is urging the public to report any coronavirus-driven price gouging. Attorney General Aaron Ford warned against any retailer selling products like hand sanitizer and protective masks at higher than normal prices. Blood centers in Northern Nevada and nationwide are urging healthy individuals to donate blood in light of the coronavirus. Officials said if you are healthy, you can continue to donate blood as scheduled. At this time, blood donations are needed just in case of increased coronavirus cases.
Pedestrian related accidents have become all too familiar in Northern Nevada. As part of the Joining Forces Program, the Nevada Highway Patrol conducted an operation in downtown Reno.
