Reno police chief named interim city manager

Reno police chief Jason Soto will serve as acting city manager. Current city manager Sabra Newby is leaving her post June 1st. Soto says his heart remains with the police department, but he’ll take on the leadership role until a permanent replacement is found. An acting police chief will also be named.

Quad-County cases of COVID-19 rise to at least 63

The Quad-County region sees two new positive cases of COVID-19. The new cases involve a Lyon County man in his 50s and a Douglas County woman in her 40s. The region has a total of 63 cases and saw six additional recoveries for a total of two dozen.
