The Washoe County Medical Examiner has identified bones found by a hiker in Storey County. The ME’s office says they belong to Marcus Moreland of Sparks-who was 35 at the time he went missing in 2012. His cause of death hasn’t been identified.

At least one person is dead in a crash near Mound House. It happened on eastbound U.S. 50 Wednesday. Police say two cars collided-and one of the drivers was killed. Two other suffered minor injuries.
Reno police chief Jason Soto will serve as acting city manager. Current city manager Sabra Newby is leaving her post June 1st. Soto says his heart remains with the police department, but he’ll take on the leadership role until a permanent replacement is found. An acting police chief will also be named.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released a six-page memorandum with details on how to reopen casinos. The memo offers guidance to licensees. Health officials reported three additional COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County on Wednesday bringing the countywide total to 21. The Quad-County region sees two new positive cases of COVID-19. The new cases involve a Lyon County man in his 50s and a Douglas County woman in her 40s. The region has a total of 63 cases and saw six additional recoveries for a total of two dozen.
