U.S. Senator Ted Cruz will headline this summer’s Basque Fry. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the former Republican presidential hopeful is set to take the stage along with U.S, Reps Matt Gaetz and Devine Nunes in August. It’s one of few major events that haven’t been canceled due to COVID-19.

Nevada has seen more than a month of declining rates of coronavirus-related hospitalizations and positive tests for COVID-19, according to Gov. Sisolak on Thursday. 2 hospitalized in head-on crash in Minden

At least two people were seriously hurt in a head-on crash in Minden that totally obliterated one of the vehicles. Troopers say it happened on U.S. 395 northbound near Muller Lane Wednesday. Both drivers were taken by medical chopper to the hospital.

Reno police make 4th arrest in riot that damaged police station

Reno police make a fourth arrest in connection with riots downtown over the weekend. Wesley Compton faces charges of felony theft and destruction of property. Police say he threw rocks at the station and parked cars and tagged the building with anti-police graffiti. They say Compton was carrying a replica police badge.
