The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office says a police-involved shooting in Reno in 2018 was justified. A Reno police officer was accused of shooting Derek Luthy, who was armed and suicidal. Luthy survived and was later convicted of resisting a public officer with use of a gun.
A man is arrested on charges of sex assault. Douglas County deputies handcuffed Caleb Proctor-Henry in Reno after a two-week search. He faces charges of statutory sexual seduction and lewdness of a minor under 16.
Lake Tahoe’s clarity has decreased by nearly eight feet. The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center says a number of things factor into lake clarity, including precipitation, lake mixing, sediment, algae and climate warming.

The state is facing a more than $800 million budget shortfall this fiscal year, tied to the coronavirus pandemic. Governor Steve Sisolak says the state is going to have to make some tough decisions. The shortfall includes a loss of $265 million in general funds needed for the Distributive School Account.
