A Sun Valley man is sentenced to life in prison on child sex abuse charges. Patrick Brymer pleaded to guilty to sexually assaulting a child under 14 as well as using a minor in a pornographic video. He could see parole after serving 45 years.

Just how bad is the hotel industry hurting during the coronavirus pandemic? The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitor’s Authority says 163,000 rooms have been canceled since the start of the pandemic in March. That equates to millions in lost revenue. They say more than half of current arrivals are coming from California.
Washoe County adds 124 COVID-19 cases-the third most cases reported in a single day. No new deaths were reported Thursday. The county also added 74 recoveries.
A fire forces evacuations near Red Rock Road and North Virginia Street. Truckee Meadows firefighters say the Anderson Fire spanned 65 acres and threatened several structures at the time. The Washoe County Senior Services building served as an evacuation center.
