Washoe County’s death toll from COVID-19 rose by two over the weekend. It now stands at 115. The latest death Sunday involves a man in his 60s with underlying health conditions. The area added 50 cases and 73 recoveries.
A motorcyclist is dead in a crash in Gardnerville. Troopers say it happened near Kingsbury Grade and Foothill Road Saturday afternoon. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by chopper where they were pronounced dead.
A pedestrian is dead in a crash in Sparks. It happened late Saturday night at Pyramid Highway and Los Altos Parkway. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
An RV is destroyed by fire. Truckee Meadows firefighters arrived at the scene in Washoe Valley to find the motorhome fully engulfed. One resident managed to escape the flames without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A Reno man is arrested on charges of child sex trafficking. 49-year-old James Westfall is accused of soliciting a child for prostitution and using the child to produce pornography. He was arrested at his midtown Reno home Thursday following a month-long investigation.
Two more people die from COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. Health officials say a man and woman in their 80s from Lyon County, both with underlying health conditions died. The Quad-County’s death toll now stands at 12. The area added 13 cases Thursday.
