Douglas Co. man pleads no contest in racially-motivated assault

A Douglas County man pleads no contest in what prosecutors are calling a racially-motivated assault. Thomas Morris is accused of shouting racial epithets and pointing a gun at his Hispanic neighbors, one of them elderly, in Indian Hills. The Record-Courier reports Morris is being held without bail pending sentencing in December.

GOP HQ in Carson City vandalized again

The state Republican Party headquarters in Carson City has been vandalized again. This time, it happened at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Earthquake rattles Cold Springs

A minor earthquake shook Cold Springs this morning. The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake at 2.3 on the Richter Scale. It originated off Red Rock Road. There’s no word of any damage or injuries. It follows a magnitude 3.0 earthquake that struck near Dayton Thursday.
