The Reno police department arrested eight suspected impaired drivers during a DUI saturation patrol on Saturday. The eight law enforcement officers made 81 stops during the operation that ran on Saturday afternoon and night. One of the arrests was for felony drunken driving. Police also gave out several citations.

The Washoe County School District Board has approved a pay increase for substitute teachers. Daily subs will now make $125 per day, and long-term substitute teachers will earn $150 dollars per day.
The Reno City Council has confirmed Kathryn Nance as the new Chief of Police for Reno. She replaces Jason Soto, who retired as chief this month. Nance will take her oath of office next month.
