Washoe County hits a new record of average cases in when it comes to its seven-day rolling average–that number now standing at 128. Thursday, the county added 143 cases and 95 recoveries. The death toll remained unchanged at 189.

We now have the name of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Pyramid Highway. He is 23-year-old Christopher Hakin of Sparks. Police say Hakin was thrown from his bike after he was hit by a turning SUV. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at Renown.

The SnowGlobe Music Festival in Lake Tahoe has been canceled amid coronavirus concerns. Organizers say the decision is in the best interest of the health and safety of the community. The electronic music festival, scheduled for late December at Lake Tahoe Community College, was set to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Domestic Violence Calls Remain High During Pandemic. In April, calls to the Domestic Violence Resource Center were up 51%, and that increase has remained steady through the pandemic.
750 wildfires were sparked in Nevada so far this year, and fire season isn’t over yet. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the Bureau of Land Management says the state saw 50 percent more human-sparked fires–with this season marking its 14th busiest since 1980. This year 516 fires were human sparked by 228 were sparked by lightning.
Washoe County adds three new COVID-19 deaths for a total of 189. The latest deaths involve a woman in her 80s, and two men in their 60s and 70s. The area added 117 new cases and 124 recoveries.
